Karen B. Rogers PhD is Professor Emerita of Gifted Studies in the Special Education & Gifted Education Department at the College of Education, Leadership, and Counselling, University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a Professorial Fellow at the University of Wollongong and an Honorary Professor at the University of New South Wales in Australia. Her life-long passion for serving the needs of high potential learners has seen her associated with many prestigious organisations, including terms as President of The Association for the Gifted, Council for Exceptional Students (U.S.A.) and a role on the Board of Directors for the National Association for Gifted Children (U.S.A.).

Professor Rogers has engaged extensively in both research and research syntheses in a variety of areas in gifted education. She has expertise in gifted program development, evaluation, cognitive processing, creativity and twice exceptional education. She is a prolific author in the field and reviews manuscripts for all the major journals in gifted education (U.S.A. and Australia), and recently received the prestigious NAGC 2015 Distinguished Scholar Award.
